Papers of Valery Havard, 1879-1905.

The papers relate chiefly to Col. Havard's services as chief military agent and medical observer in Russia during the Russo-Japanese War and his subsequent imprisonment by the Japanese. Included are his passport, notebooks, letters, text of a speech on his experiences, and an official report to the chief of the Second Division of the U.S. Army, 26 July 1905.
